“Magic mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?”

Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But behold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee. Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow.

“Snow White!” With a cry of rage the Evil Queen struck out at the enchanted mirror. “That wretch”, she muttered as crimson bloomed from her hand and dropped onto the floor, mingling with broken shards of glass.Glaring murderously at the pale maiden whose reflection was now distorted by the large cracks upon the mirror’s face, the queen hissed, “For too long you have been a thorn in my side. But now, thy has robbed me of what I hold most dear - a title which rightfully belong to me. And for this, thy shall pay!”

Dropping her voice to a cold whisper, “Prepare to bring me your heart…my dear, Snow White”

My Graphic Design teacher at school is very fond of Illustrator and absolutely hates Photoshop. Thus, I have been feeling extremely Photoshop deprived lately. So this was just a small but fun project just to get me back into the swing of things.

First off, the model is the beautiful actress Kaitie McGrath who plays none other than the evil witch Morgana on my favorite show, Merlin. It’s a bit ridiculous how stunning she is, really. So it was only a matter of time before I featured her in a photo manipulation
At first, I was only playing around, testing out this new 3D effect I found out about and was doing some trial-and-error to perfect the technique. I randomly placed a broken glass texture on top of the image and I was like, “Ok, this is starting to look interesting”. And that’s when I decided to incorporate the idea of Snow White into the image so that glass texture would work out. Basically, I just wanted to see what it would look like if Kaitie McGrath was given the role of Snow White for the upcoming film Snow White & The Huntsman. Sadly, we will never know but I’m sure it’s safe to say that Kaitie would do a damn better job than Kristen Stewart.
